This home owner in Feeding Hills, MA called us to his home to see if we could help reduce the amount of water that was coming into his basement. When our building science specialist was on his inspection of the basement, he noticed that all the water was coming in from the bilco door to the outside. To make things worse, he did not have a steel insulated door to protect his home!
So, to fix this issue we first caulked the bilco door so no water could get in from that way, Then we installed our steel insulated basement door. Once we complete this door project the water will not be able to come into the basement and effect the home.
Now that Dr Energy Saver by Eco Energy Solutions has came and completed this project, this home owner will not have to worry about water in his basement any more!
This Feeding Hills, MA homeowner contacted Fogarty's Home Services to evaluate their home for energy efficiency. When we arrived, we found that the dryer and bathroom vents were not air sealed or insulated. When this type of ventilation is not installed properly, air will leak, causing temperature and moisture discomfort in the home. The homeowner will also experience higher energy bills. Fogarty's Home Services installed Foamax® insulation over the plywood covering where the vents are located. Foamax® is an advanced polyisocyanurate foam insulation panel designed with a white foil finish on the front and a foil vapor barrier on the back. The white finished face brightens the basement and the vapor barrier helps control basement humidity. Foamax® makes a big difference in the temperature of your walls, providing a comfortable basement and lowering heating costs. This homeowner wanted to make his home more efficient. Rim joists are rarely insulated and never sealed. This results in gaps between the framing which allows air to leak into the home. Insulating the rim joist is one of the best things you can do to make your home more energy efficient. Our team used our two part expanding spray foam to seal all the gaps. No more air will leak into this home making it more energy efficient.
This homeowner wanted their upstairs to be more comfortable. Our Team insulated this interior wall which was above a porch. The porch was not a conditioned space allowing cold air to enter the home. Our Team used our SilverGlo Expanded Polystyrene Foam insulation board. SilverGlo is infused with graphite and specially manufactured with a radiant barrier on both sides to reflect roof heat out in the summer and house heat back in during the winter. The upstairs of this home will be more comfortable throughout the year.
This homeowner had a cold kitchen. Our Team installed our Foamax Insulation board on the basement ceiling to prevent cold air from leaking into the kitchen. Our Foamax has the flame retardant properties to satisfy building codes to leave it exposed in a basement. The kitchen in this home will be much more comfortable!
