Old moldy insulation was removed in a homeowner's basement and replaced with Foamax insulation boards on the walls and Thermal Dry Plank Flooring. This basement insulation and installation helped with making the basement moisture-resistant and preventive for future mold growth and more energy efficient.

This was occurring because the heat that she was paying for escaped into the attic and warmed up the roof deck. Now that the roof deck is warm. the snow starts melt and run down the roof until it hits the gutter line and refreezes. This is how ice dams are created.

To stop this from happening we have to properly air seal and insulate the attic space. To do this first we remove all the old fiberglass insulation.
