Dr. Energy Saver CT/MA does good quality work, and has excellent employees who provide quality service. Living in this region, you really owe it to yourself to get their free home energy audit, and see any potential areas you are losing energy efficiency in your home!
My family and I first hired Dr. Energy Saver in February 2019. What I appreciated most about our initial consultation was that there was no pressure to sign up for anything and/or everything all at once, it really focused on education for me as a home owner (new homeowner at the time). We ultimately decided on upgrades to our attic insulation, following their "A,B,C" model. In this model, the attic is first priority and has most impact, and for us we were not in a position financially to make all upgrades they recommended at the same time.
We have a Cape style home, and got their super knee wall treatment, as well as air seal, and blown cellulose in the attic. From start to finish, their team was professional and courteous. They even paused the project to show me a mold issue in the attic, offer a solution, and waited until I had signed the adjustment to complete the work (this is a common theme, they will not alter their service agreement/add costs without consulting you first).
After the attic upgrades, the difference was immediate. The upstairs was always colder in winter, hotter in summer (even with central air). Our energy savings was around 40% after the attic insulation, in terms of cost, and also energy usage (we looked at consumption of gas and electricity year over year). Based on the performance of the attic, we hired Dr. Energy Saver again in Fall 2020, to upgrade our basement.
In our basement, we had complete rim joist and foundation insulation, replacement windows, and also (again) mold remediation. My wife always said the basement bothered her asthma, after this treatment that issue is no more. Our basement this winter stays between 55-60 degrees, even if it is 0 degrees outside. Before Dr. Energy Saver, our basement could be as cold as 40-45 degrees...great for keeping Scotch cold, but you'd need to go upstairs to drink it.
We can't say enough good things about this company, from top to bottom. I can also say as a repeat customer that they will always follow up with you, and if any issues or concerns come up during or after your project, they will make it right. If any parts of your home are hot in summer, too cold in winter, give them a call!
