Owners of this 1950's home in Canyon, MN had issues with water seeping through foundation cracks in the basement. As evidenced in the before photo, this basement has sustained water damage from prolonged water exposure. Tired of cleaning up their flooded basement after heavy rains, they contacted DBS for a permanent solution.

DBS Design Specialist Henrik Makitalo provided a free, no-obligation estimate for the foundation repair and waterproofing system. DBS Foreman Joe Harris and crew installed our WaterGuard® System along the perimeter of the basement, that will direct all moisture to a new SingleSafe™ Sump Pump. The crew also installed CleanSpace® vapor barrier on the walls that were extra prone to water leakage. 

To correct the structural issues, the team installed 4 PowerBrace™ beams to correct the bowing foundation walls, as well as 8 SmartJack® beams to support the sinking basement supports. 

This home is now protected against further structural movement and water issues. 

Before reaching out to us, a homeowner in Wright, MN, struggled with relentless condensation and a constantly humid atmosphere, making their home uncomfortable. The before photo reveals wet windows and an untouched basement that had been a problem since 2012. After our intervention, we revitalized the space! This homeowner in Makinen, MN reached out to DBS because they discovered significant settling and cracking in their slab foundation, which supports a prefab home on concrete pillars. The settling had caused cracks extending back to the pillar support. The primary goal was to permanently stabilize and lift the settled slab foundation, addressing the settling issue and potential water leakage.

Our experienced foreman, Jordan Salmi, and his crew started on the project right away. They started by lift the slab and using our PolyLevel® foam to fill voids during and after the lift. Given the encapsulation plans, the team ensured PolyLevel application before encapsulation to avoid drilling through the CleanSpace® liner.

Additionally, the crew reinforced the slab with a thickened edge and rebar to provide lasting stability. The 3-part encapsulation process was implemented to address water leakage onto the concrete floor, particularly around the 30 concrete block supports. The NexusPro™ crack repair and joint sealant were applied to remedy existing cracks and prevent future issues.

Upon completion, the homeowners expressed satisfaction, noting that the project not only met but exceeded their expectations!
