The owner of this home in Knife River, MN reached out to us looking for help with their sinking crawl space foundation.
One of our Design Specialists came to the home to run a free no-obligation estimate for the homeowner. After a thorough inspection, our Design Specialist created a quote for our SmartJack® System.
One of our crews came out to install the system. Together they installed crawl space support pillars underneath the beams to permanently stabilize the foundation. They also installed CleanSpace® water vapor barrier and sprayed polyurethane foam in the crawl space to waterproof the area.
Now that the crawl space has been repaired, the homeowner can relax with peace of mind.
This 1987 home in Wrenshall, MN began having issues with condensation and water build-up in their attic. The owners knew were considering moving if they couldn't find a permanent solution to the issues this was causing in the rest of their home. Luckily, they contacted us for advice after hearing about in their local newspaper.
Dr. Energy Saver® Design Specialist Henry Jungbauer went to the home and provided a free, no-obligation estimate, looking at insulation solutions for both the attic. Our team first removed the existing batt insulation and prepped the attic space for an application of our TruSoft™ cellulose. They also built a scuttle cover to properly seal the attic access using TerraBlock™ foam insulation.
This home is now properly insulated and the homeowners were happy with the work done.
When this customer first experienced foundation problems they had a home-made solution that had not helped to permanently stabilize or straighten the wall. We used Geo-Lock anchors to stabilize the wall and straighten it over time. The first photo is mid-way through the project. After another anchor was added and both were tightened, the large crack in the wall closed up.
When large walls in common spaces are under-insulated it can result in major heat loss in the home. Especially when paired with large windows it is important to retain as much heat as possible to create a comfortable living environment. This customer's entire wall needed to be re-insulated using spray foam insulation which provides the highest r-value in tight spaces and has additional air sealing properties. This large wall is now an asset in this customer's home, retaining heat for a comfortable space and making the property more energy efficient.
This is a great example of how the use of PowerBraces™ can help straighten and strengthen a wall over time. System Design Specialist, Royce Bunn visited this home and proposed the use of six PowerBraces™ to fix the bowing wall. The homeowner had tried various other solutions over the years to fix the bowing wall, but nothing had helped. They even had another foundation wall installed to help fix the bowing exterior wall. The homeowner now rests easy as the experts at DBS have found a permanent solution to fix this problem.
