Homeowners of this Superior, WI home had significant cracking in their basement foundation walls. In search of peace of mind and a permanent solution, they reached out to DBS via a referral.
DBS Sales Manager Royce Bunn was the Design Specialist for the project and visited the home to provide a thorough inspection and free estimate for the foundation support. It was determined that both foundation and waterproofing support were needed to permanently support the basement and stop water from finding its way in. DBS Production Manager Kevin Steffey was the Foreman for this project. He and his crew installed our PowerBrace™ Wall Support system, using 10 steel I-beams.
Because the walls were bowing significantly, our crews needed to excavate soil on the outside of the home to restore the walls to their original position. The crew applied SentrySeal® and TerraBlock™ to give extra insulation and provide a waterproofing layer on the exterior wall. Finally, a new SuperSump® Premier Pump System was installed and connected to a new discharge line, guiding water away the home's foundation.
The installation was successful and provided a solid solution to the leaking water and foundation cracks!
This Solon Springs, WI homeowner reached out to DBS for curbing the cost of their heating bills. They mentioned specifically outer walls and doors as especially drafty.
Design Specialist Henrik Makitalo went to the home and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for the work. Energy loss was measured across the trouble areas and the solution Henrik determined was closed cell spray foam along the home's entrance. A DBS foreman and their production crew installed the spray foam and the homeowner plans to cover the areas in paneling.
This home is now healthy, comfortable, and more energy-efficient!
Homeowners in Embarrass, MN were tired of inconsisent temperatures in their home. Drafty floors, combined with a wet crawl space left them looking for a crawl space encapsulation service.
They contacted us in search of a permanent solution and an expert in our Dr. Energy Saver® service visited the home and provided a thorough inspection. To properly seal-off the space from cold air, close-cell spray foam was suggested for the foundation walls and rim joists. A Design Specialist trained in energy-saving solutions visited the home to provide a free, no-obligation estimate. It was determined that both the crawl space and attic needed attention. A DBS foreman and crew installed CleanSpace® vapor barrier over drainage matting in the dirt crawl space. These two products work together to keep moisture and pests at bay. To further prevent moisture and the growth of mold, closed-cell spray foam was applied to fully seal and regulate temperature in the space.
For the attic, our team first removed the existing insultion and proceeded in air sealing the entire space. Afterwards, they replaced the blown-in insulation using cellulose, which has an incredible R-value.
The homeowner was happy with the work done, resulting in a great improvement of this home's overall health.
