A homeowner in Hayward, WI wanted to replace the flooring on their main level. When preparing for the work, they noticed significant sloping in certain areas of the floor. They decided to contact DBS for a free, no-obligation foundation repair estimate in order to correct the problem before investing in new flooring.
DBS Design Specialist Rich Johnsen visited the home and inspected the crawl space to find the root of the issue. The dirt crawl space was unsealed and the main supports we sinking. In order to provide a permanent solution for this homeowner, Rich recommended supplemental support along running along the entire length of the home.
DBS Foreman Taylor and his crew performed the crawl space repair work. They installed 175 feet of horizontal steel support beams parallel to the dirt crawl space. Our team then installed a total of 35 SmartJack® telescoping vertical beams beneath the new support beam and beneath the home's existing supports. The SmartJack® beams are anchored to the ceiling joists and supplemental support beams and held in place by steel footings.
This home is now restored to a level position and is ready for home improvement projects in the future.
Homeowners in Minnetonka, MN had issues with the large 3-season porch on the back of their home. Over time, the tall support posts had settled and begun to lean, causing the structure itself to sink.
Sales Manager Royce Bunn was the Design Specialist for this job visited the home to provide a free, no-obligation estimate. He discovered more sinking on the back side of the home and designed a foundation repair plan for both the home and the back deck.
Our foundation repair his crew excavated the exterior of the home in order to perform a lift procedure. Our team installed 8 push piers total at the base of the home on the exterior of the home. These galvanized steel piers were then hydraulically driven into the ground to weight-bearing soils. The weight of the home was then transferred to the competent soil.
From there our team performed the deck stabilization work by driving 4 HelixPro® piers beneath the wooden supports. This home is now fully stabilized and ready to go on the market!
This family home in Saint Paul, MN was built in the 1920s. It had some major issues in the crawl space that the homeowner wanted to address before matters worsened. After meeting us at a home show in Woodbury, MN, they decided to move forward with DBS completing the crawl space repair work.
DBS Production Manager Jason Brummer was the Design Specialist for this project. Because the home was showing issues with its cement and stone foundation, as well as the sinking of the floors of the main level, Jason came up with a custom plan including two different foundation repair products.
First, to combat the sinking floors, Jason recommended our SmartJack® system. Equipped with a nationally-backed transferable warranty, this system is meant to permanently stabilize crawl space floors using supplemental steel beams and vertical telescoping SmartJack® beams. Foreman Zach Jorenby and his crew installed the SmartJack® system.
To combat the movement of the foundation walls, Nick Burley and his crew installed a GeoLock™ Wall Anchor System. This foundation repair product anchors the foundation wall to earth plates in the stable soil around the home's exterior. Connected by long steel rods, this system pulls the vertical foundation walls towards the exterior of the home, back to a level position.
This Duluth, MN home was built in the 1940s and had some major issues with sinking and settling. In preparation to sell the home, the owner wanted the foundation issues fixed. The push piers attached to the home via steel brackets. Then, long, galvanized tubes are hydraulically driven into the soil.
