Encapsulation of a crawl space in SAINTE-LUCIE-DES-LAURENTIDES, Qc

Mr. Bernier had humidity problems in his cottage. Its crawl space is earth and only a few foundation walls were insulated. There were also windows which were not insulated. The high humidity in his crawl space came from the earthen floor and outside. And because of that, the rest of the house was affected and so was the comfort.

In order to solve its problem, our experts installed a SmartSump sump pump system connected to an external discharge line in order to expel the water coming from the ground away from the foundation. They insulated the walls that had no insulation with SilverGlo. Then they laid a drainage mat on the earthen floor. The purpose of this is to drain the surface water towards the sump pump. Over the drainage mat, flexible TerraBlock insulation sheets have been placed. They insulate and protect the crawl space as well as the house from humidity. And then our 20mm thick Polyethylene CleanSpace a liner was placed on the TerraBlock. It locks in moisture, is antimicrobial, and provides a clear, bright appearance in crawl spaces. Finally, our Sanidry Sedona dehumidifier was installed to filter the air and control the humidity level.

With this complete solution, Mr. Bernier will no longer have a humidity problem in his crawl space and will find comfort in his home.

The family that lives in this beautiful mansion in Westmount continually suffered from problems caused by the crawl space under the house. Moisture, cold floors, musty smells and floors that squeak finally pushed the owners to call us in order to encapsulate this space under their house.

Our specialist Peter Romaniuk recommended to install the CleanSpace encapsulation membrane to cut moisture and reduce mold, as well as the wall panels Silverglo to insulate the exposed parts of the foundation wall. The difference is evident in the pictures you see here...

Encapsulation of a wet crawl space in Verdun, Qc

There was humidity and water infiltration in this crawl space of a house in Verdun. This created an odor of dampness which was present in the house all the time. Mr. Chan's sump pump did not always work and had caused water damage in the past.

The solution for our client was to first replace their pump with our SuperSump sump pump system. This features a powerful ⅓ HP Zoeller cast-iron sump pump capable of pumping 8,300 liters of water out of your basement per hour, then our experts laid a drainage membrane on the floor in the ground of the crawl space. This membrane allows surface water to flow into the SuperSump and thus be forced out. They then installed our CleanSpace coating on top of the membrane. This helps lock in moisture from the soil, thus isolating the house from the earth. It also gives a clear and clean appearance to the crawl space. Finally, in order to filter the air and remove any moisture, our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was installed and connected to the SuperSump.

Encapsulation of a crawl space in Bois-Des-Filions, Qc

The problem:

This Bois-des-Filion customer contacted us so that we could solve his mold problem in his crawl space. This is caused by the high humidity in it. In addition, there was a lot of wood which was rotten and it was necessary to act quickly so that the problem does not get worst.

The solution :

One of our certified specialists visited his crawl space and suggested that we need to first remove the mold that was present with our Mold X product. Subsequently, our foreman installed a drainage membrane to facilitate the flow of water.

Following this, we encapsulated this crawl space with our CleanSpace membrane, this membrane mainly serves to prevent water vapor from coming out of the ground and going up to the upper floors. When everything was finished and to maximize the efficiency of the CleanSpace system, our specialist installed our product Sedona SandiDry, which is a high performance dehumidifier. Its goal is to dry out your crawl space as much as possible and reduce the humidity level as much as possible.

Since our intervention, this client from Bois-des-Filion now benefits from a dry crawl space without mold.
