Insulated attic in Simsbury, CT with Trusoft cellulose.
Mold in your attic is not normal, not healthy, and a sign that the humidity in your attic is above 75%. Fogarty's Home Services used Mold-X to neutralize and prevent the mold from producing any further spores.
This homeowner in Simsbury, CT called us out to their home to replace old inefficient fiberglass insulation. Especially without air sealing, Fiberglass is not an efficient form of insulation. The attic also had some mold in it, which can be very unhealthy.
We removed all of the old, fiberglass insulation and properly disposed of the materials. Next, we fog our Mold-X treatment throughout the attic to neutralize any nooks and crannies that can be affected. Now we are ready for the next step. We seal up all top plates and any areas where air can escape from the home into the attic and be lost with foam. Now we are ready to blow our Truoft Cellulose insulation into the attic. Cellulose will fill in any odd-shaped voids and gaps.
Now, thanks to Dr. Energy Saver by Eco Energy Solutions, this home is more energy efficient!
This homeowner in Simsbury, CT contacted Fogarty's Home Services to help make the 3-Season porch attached to her home a room she could enjoy all year-round. We started below the porch in the crawl space that is exposed to the outside elements. We air-sealed and insulated the rim joist using Closed Cell Spray Foam. Then, we air-sealed and insulated the floors that were open to the outside using SilverGlo™ foam board.
Fogarty's Home Services made this room even more comfortable by blocking the soffit vent. We then removed the gutter and fascia board, and dense packed each open bay with TruSoft™ cellulose insulation.
Thanks to Fogarty's Home Services, this happy customer will be able to enjoy her porch all year long, while keeping her energy costs at a minimum.
Our Simsbury, CT customer called Fogarty's Home Services because his home was very uncomfortable due to insufficient insulation. When our Home Comfort Specialist conducted a Free Home Energy Evaluation, one of the problems he discovered was open air space around the chimney in the attic. That open space was allowing air that the customer paid to heat his home with to continuously leak out of the attic. To solve this problem, Fogarty's Home Services installed metal flashing against the space between the wood framing and masonry. Next, we sealed the chimney airtight and installed completely fireproof "Rock Wool" insulation panels. Our happy customer will now feel a much more comfortable temperature in his home and his energy bills will be lower. "We Fix Uncomfortable Homes!"
