This homeowner in Chicopee, MA called us out to their home to help them make their home more comfortable all year round. We went to the house and performed our Full Home Energy Evaluation to see that they had a great deal of old, nasty fiberglass insulation in their attic. Because fiberglass is so fluffy it allows air to easily travel through it, which is not primal for insulation. Fiberglass is also high in allergens and harmful materials that can affect you, your children, your family, and your pets. We know that to begin the process of making this home more comfortable we need to dispose of that old insulation.
First, we make sure we have the proper materials to dispose of the old, nasty insulation. We have contractor trash bags close by and our high-powered vacuum to help. Our production workers perform the unruly task of taking the insulation down and properly disposing it into the trash bags. Then, once all of the big pieces are removed, we use our vacuum to clean the whole area. We want to make sure we are completely removing all pieces of that old insulation that didn’t make it into the bags. This area is now clean and ready for new, proper air sealing and insulation.
Thanks to Fogarty's Home Services, this home is one step closer to becoming as energy efficient and comfortable as possible!!
This homeowner from Chicopee, MA called us to asses the energy efficiency in their home. They mentioned inconsistent temperatures throughout the year. During our evaluation and inspection, we found old fiberglass insulation, bare walls and drafts. After reviewing the areas of concern, the homeowners decided to focus on the attic. Typically, this is what we recommend to our homeowners - work your way from top to bottom; fix the attic then basement to create an envelope that fully seals the house.
First, we removed all of the old fiberglass insulation. We collected the material, vacuumed the small debris and properly disposed of the bags. Next, we air sealed all of the top plates with one-part fire retardant foam. Then, we added the TruSoft cellulose insulation making sure to cover all gaps and odd shaped spaces. This results were amazing! The homeowner saw a difference in their energy bills and they experienced a more comfortable home.
This homeowner in Chicopee, MA was having issues with drafts in their home that they were looking to fix. Old metal framed, single pane windows allow the heat from inside the home escape both through the glass and the thermally conductive metal. A lot of air is also able to leak into the home.
We removed the old windows and installed our Everlast high efficiency vinyl window inserts. The windows feature two panes of high efficiency glass that allows light in without letting heat to escape. The vinyl will not rust, rot or need paint, making it perfect for the damp environment outside of the window.
Thanks to Dr. Energy Saver by Eco Energy Solutions, this house will no longer have drafts coming up into the home!
This homeowner wanted to reduce heat loss in his basement. Single pane glass windows with metal frames let lots of cold air leak into the basement. They also allow heat to escape by conduction through the cold glass. Our Team installed our Everlast sliding basement windows with double pane glass. These windows have a special metallic "Low E" coating on the inside to reduce heat flow through the glass. The new windows look great and will reduce overall air leakage in the home.
